DAFFODIL BULBS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE IN THE FALL WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.
The DAFFODIL is a harbinger of spring right up there with the American robin. It is always so hard for me to not pick the first colorful bud! This collection is for the spring garden. These selections will perennialize and become beautiful clumps of early spring color where ever you plant them. And don't be shy about your selection. Plant waves of them and enjoy the spring color then let the later arrivals overtake them. The daffodils don't care as they have done all they need to by the time other plants begin to take over the garden chores. Our narcissus are sourced from the fields of Holland and are only available for planting in the fall. We encourage you to pre-order what you wish to pick up or have shipped to you that way you can avoid the disappointment of our selling out of what you have selected.
Daffodils are also known by their botanical name Narcissus and includes the 'Jonquils'. All are members of the same family that include the beautiful Amaryllis. They multiply quickly and return to bloom again each spring, year after year. They are not fussy about soil, will grow in sun or part shade and are not bothered by deer, rabbits and other pesky critters.
Yellow is the most common color for daffodils, but they also bloom in white, cream, orange and even pink. You can choose from several different flower styles, includingtrumpets, doubles, split-cups, large-cups and jonquillas. By planting an assortment of different types of daffodils, you can enjoy 4 to 6 weeks of these beautiful, carefree flowers every spring.
All daffodils need a period of cold rest, so in zones above USDA Zone 8, you may need to hold your bulbs in the refrigerator vegetable drawer for a few months before planting them out in winter. All of our selections are hardy down to Zone 4 and some of them are even more cold tolerant!
