'MINERVA' Amaryllis (Hippeastrum x 'minerva')
'Minerva' Amaryllis is an eye catching choice for a reason. This plant offers beautiful large, wide, flat-faced, red flowers. The flowering stem grows up to 20" with the petals being 7" across. Plant with bright light indoors watering a little until you see green emerging from the bulb then increase watering slightly. If in a warm climate these can be planted in the soil. To save the bulbs for another season in cooler climes as fall approaches, stop watering it and place in a warm, dry place. When the leaves have died back and the bulb is completely dry, cut off your dead leaves and store in a cool location. After 8 weeks re-pot the bulb in fresh potting soil and begin slowly watering to restart the growing cycle. Then you can enjoy these beautiful amaryllis again!
