'KINGSVILLE' LA Lily (Lilium x 'kingsville')

'Kingsville' LA Lily is an in-your-face bright-yellow, vigorous lily perfect for an early summer splash of garden color. Coming in at around 4 feet tall, the 8" blossoms cluster at the top of the stem making them perfect for mid-garden placement and for cutting.

Hybrids between the trumpet and Asiatic lilies are termed 'LA' lilies. These are some of easiest to grow and largest flowering. Hardy in Zones 4 to 9, LA Lilies come in pure-white, pink, vivid-yellow, orange, and red. Intense breeding has toned down their classic fragrance, but in spite of their limited perfume, they are a favorite with floral arrangers and gardeners alike.

Known for their dazzling blossoms, the garden lily is an essential part of any summer garden. We only carry these voluptuous beauties for a short time in the spring and fall as they prefer to be in the ground and not on the store shelf. The living bulbs are perishable if not stored properly and when they are ready to sprout, there is no stopping them! If you happen to miss your opportunity at planting the bulbs for yourself, standby and catch our cut-flowers later in the summer.
