The 'English Lavender' comes with 50 organically certified seeds per packet. This woody evergreen perennial is native to southern Europe . It thrives in sunny, dry to mesic, well-drained soil. Sow in early spring to take advantage of cool soil, which is ideal for germination. Or give 30 days refrigeration in moist sand in a sealed jar or plastic bag. Sow seeds in pots or nursery bed. Barely cover seed, tamp firmly, and keep evenly moist and in the light until germination which takes 4 to 6 weeks. Thin or transplant 3 to 4 feet apart. They grow up to 2 to 3 feet tall.
Lavenders are well-known as fragrant garden perennials with myriad uses in the home and kitchen. This plant will perennialize in areas that it prefers especially those that are hot and dry in the summer but with plenty of chill.
