'FEVERFEW' (Tanacetum parthenium)

The 'Feverfew' comes in a 100 organically certified seed packet. This clump forming herbaceous perennial is native to Eurasia. The 'feverfew' thrives in very well-drained soil in the full sun. In the spring, sow seed on surface of soil and press in firmly and keep evenly moist and in the light until germination, which occurs in 1 to 2 weeks. Thin or transplant 2 feet apart. The 'feverfew' grows up to 3 feet tall.
'Feverfew' is a pungent herbal perennial used in many cultures as a soothing or healing tea. The dried flowers or leaves are steeped to make an herbal tea purported to have cancer-protective properties. A chemical in 'Feverfew' is known to act as an anticoagulant and should not be consumed by pregnant women or those on prescribed blood thinners.
