'FROSTBITE' Apple (Malus x domestica 'frostbite')
Couldn't load pickup availability
'Frostbite' is a small, sweet apple with red striping on a yellow skin. An old cultivar from Minnesota in the 1920's, it has firm, juicy, cream-colored flesh, and is especially good for fresh eating and in cider. It's high sugar content and skin-to-pulp ratio make 'Frostbite' especially suited for making hard cider. This late-season apple does not store very well, so plan to use it as it ripens.
USDA Zones 4-7 and down to Zone 3 with heavy root mulching.
Not self-pollinating. Consider 'Cortland' or 'Crimsoncrisp' as pollinators for 'Frostbite'.
Available in 7 gallon pots.
