'HYSSOP' (Hyssopus officinalis)

The 'Hyssop' packet comes with 100 organically certified seeds. The 'Hyssop' is a woody evergreen perennial native to the Mediterranean basin. They thrive in sunny, dry to mesic, well drained soil.  Rough up the seedbed, surface sow, tamp firmly, and keep evenly moist and in the light until germination usually in 7 to 10 days. Thin or transplant to 2 to 3 feet apart. In the spring sow seed in pots or directly in garden. Flowers deep purple up to 2 feet tall. May perennialize in locations that favor dry hot summers.
