'MAGICAL RED FLAME' St. John's Wort (Hypericum x inodorum 'magical red flame')

You can rely on this recent introduction of St John’s Wort to provide plenty of interest in the garden. Golden-yellow flowers with distinctive, spidery stamens are produced from May to June above the semi-evergreen foliage. The flowers are quickly replaced by scarlet-red berries, which appear on the plant even while the late flowers are still in full-bloom. Hypericum 'Magical Red Flame' is a superb garden variety with a compact, spreading habit. A useful small shrub for sunny mixed borders. Height and spread to 36". An easy-to-cultivate perennial.
