'PUFFED COTTON' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'puffed cotton')

'Puffed Cotton' is aptly named, not only for the creamy-white color with soft-salmon glow in the middle, but also for the miraculous size of the blossoms. At 8 to 10 inches, these are some of the largest peony blossoms in the double-white category. Breathtaking to behold, each fragrant blossom stands above attractive glossy-green foliage on 34" stems that easily take the weight of the fully blown flower. This selection is still considered a "premium" amongst peony growers and aficionados and demand continues to outpace production of both plants for sale and for the cut flowers. We have been fortunate to find a small cache and to offer this handsome peony in our collection this year. Mid-season blooming. EXTREMELY LIMITED QUANTITY. (Klehm, 2003)
