Huge, fully-double, reddish-pink/fucshia/purplish-red flowers are as fragrant as they are showy. Widely used in sunny borders or mass plantings, this peony makes an excellent cut-flower and also attracts butterflies and hummingbirds to the late-spring garden. Deer resistant. An unfortunate naming by its Chinese originator as this peony in no way resembles the popular pink 'Sarah Bernhardt'. It is noted that 'Red Sarah Bernhardt' very closely resembles another variety sold as 'FIONA'...(Chinese registry, 1980).
