'REGINA' Sweet Cherry (Prunus x avium 'regina')

'Regina' is bold and vigorous with sweet-tart fruit when picked red and superbly sweet if picked deep-purple, when fully ripe. It has a strong cherry flavor with a good balance of natural sugars and acidity coupled with high “cherry essence”. 'Regina' blooms late avoiding late spring frosts. Crack resistant. Keeps well in proper storage. Introduction from Germany in 1998. Ripens in late June. Pollinator required: Choose any other sweet cherry except Van.

USDA Zones 5-8. Requires 1000 chill hours.

Not self-pollinating. Cross-pollinate with another sweet cherry other than 'Van'.

Available in 7-gallon pot.
