'SCARLET FIRE' Korean Dogwood (Cornus kousa var. 'scarlet fire')
'Scarlet Fire' is a recent introduction in the dogwood lineup. Growing up to 25 feet tall and 20 feet wide, this relatively compact tree produces saturated rose-pink bracts in late spring that can last up to 8 weeks! The flowers are followed by edible fruit of nearly the same hue in late summer and will persist on the branches right through late fall if not eaten by birds or people. 'Scarlet Fire' produces loads of color from its heavy flowering, bright fall leaf color, and dangling berries. Easy to grow in many soil types. Perfers moist, well-drained soils. Doesn't tolerate standing water or soggy soils.
Available in 7-gallon pot.
