'SUGAR 'N SPICE' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'sugar 'n spice')

Wow! 'Sugar 'n Spice' brings its big seven-inch flower to the perennial show early in the peony season. The bubblegum-pink, wavy petals are borne in single or modestly double fashion around a frilly, yellow, pompom center of stamen. The sum of this blossom is certainly more than its part and 'Sugar 'n Spice' pays its dues by growing out a high number of 34" stems on an attractive bush. This selection pairs very nicely with other colors of the early garden season such as tulips. Still quite unusual in the trade and not easy to find.
