We are proud to announce that the Champlain Peony Company is certified by the Homegrown By Heroes program, a program of the Farmer Veteran Coalition! The Farmer Veteran Coalition is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing sustainable employment and meaningful careers for veterans.
Founded in 2008 by Michael O'Gorman out of the back of his pickup truck after 20 years of farming in the organic vegetable industry, this organization now offers small grants to veteran-owned and operated farms, and offers a certification program for veteran-owned farms.
Additional programs offered by the Farmer Veteran Coalition are internships and apprenticeships in agriculture, animal husbandry, grazing, land management/conservation, and soil science.
