Peonies need to be dormant before they can be harvested and prepared for shipment. Typically, this has occurred from October to December in previous years, and we expect it to be the same this year. We ship to our northernmost customers first so the roots can send down feeders before the soil freezes for the winter!

We guarantee that the roots we ship you are in prime condition to plant upon receipt. We cannot warrant damage occurring during shipping, delivery, or conditions at your planting location. We provide peony roots that are grown in our fields in Essex, New York, as well as selections from reputable growers in Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and South America. At our peony farm, we source only disease-free, vigorous, top-grade root stock and, unless noted otherwise, all roots will have no fewer than 3 active eyes (buds).
