2023 was a year of growth and challenge at Champlain Peony Company with a wet growing season, even wetter harvest season, and delayed autumn shipments from our European suppliers. Our business grew 4-fold and outstripped the capacity of our able, but very human small staff.  As the saying goes, “Every dark cloud has its silver lining”!

February 10th begins the Chinese New Year; the Year of the Wood-Dragon celebrating strength, power, and success! Champlain Peony Company is taking advantage of this advance into 2024 by celebrating the PEONY and important place this ‘Imperial Flower' has played in Chinese art, landscaping, and culture for over three thousand years! Beginning January 5th and ending April 31st, we are offering unprecedented discounts or free shipping to our valued patrons! All orders placed during our SPRING 2024 PEONY ROOT SALE will earn a discount, free shipping, or both! Limited to current available stock, orders up to $100 will earn a 10% discount or free shipping. Orders over $200 up to $500 will earn a 15% discount or free shipping. Orders over $500 will earn both a 15% discount AND free shipping!  

Please take special note of the many Chinese Tree Peony varieties that we have imported from Heze, the historic peony growing region of China, and will be certain to make an ‘Imperial Impression’ in your gardens. Take advantage of our current bare root inventory and order now for immediate delivery of bare root peonies ready to plant into your dormant winter garden. If you are in a part of the country with frozen ground, fear not! We can hold your order under the beginning of April when we will ship your roots to you.
