Amazing combination of dark-bronze foliage and deep-chocolate, single-red flowers on short stems. Mildly fragrant and early-season. Light shade preserves color. Short 18" stems with a strong upright nature perfect for cutting. Extra-dark foliage and dark chocolate-red single, 5″ wide blooms with matching dark tipped stigmas make this early blooming sensation a standout in the cutting or perennial garden. Each stem produces 2 or 3 buds which keeps this beauty blooming long after others have faded. (Klehm, 2003).
