'WALLA WALLA' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'walla walla')
Fully-double flowers are medium-sized, snow-white, with some center petals delicately edged in red, and a pale yellow glow from the depths of the center. Average of three flowers per stem. Cupped guards (2 inch average width) are generally smooth-edged, forming a nicely rounded flower. Up-facing flower presentation. Very fragrant. Mid to late-season blooming period. Stems to 36 inches and support is not needed. ‘Walla Walla’ was awarded an APS Certificate of Merit.
We've had a difficult time getting our hands on these roots and when we can find them, we can only get a few. So, if you're pondering adding one of these to your peony collection, consider availability as fleeting at best. (McCrae/Adelman, 2014).
