'GLAMOR' Japanese Tree Peony (Paeonia x suffruticosa 'glamor')

The beautiful Tree Peony Suffruticosa (Japan) Glamor (Dao Da Chen) has purple colored flowers that are double shaped and they are of the rose type. The flowers have an average diameter of 7" and the flowering time is later than that of the Rockii and Suffruticosa (China) species. The adult plants of Suffruticosa (Japan) Glamor (Dao Da Chen) are 3' to 4' tall and wide.

USDA Zones 4-8 would be very successful zones for this peony. It can tolerate somewhat warmer areas than most other peonies. Where they are grown in Shandong, China is similar to the American interior mid-Atlantic and mid-western regions with cold, dry winters and hot, humid summers. Typical winter low temps are in the teens Fahrenheit with dips into single digits and with summer temps often exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit. 

Bare roots are available in the late-fall and winter only. 2-year plant
