'HENRY SASS' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'henry sass')
'HENRY SASS' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'henry sass')
These large, double-flower blooms are snow-white or blush-pink and offer two looks as their pristine petals open. The buds are silky smooth orbs that slowly drop one petal at a time, unveiling a ruffled delight! 'Henry Sass' has strong, long stems that don't droop or struggle to keep its large blooms aloft. They hold their color and shape for a week after being cut making them a favorite for floral designers. They make a stunning impact when added to a bouquet or flower arrangement. When it's not in bloom, the foliage still creates a handsome arrangement of long, thin leaves in the perennial garden. Blooms just after mid-season, but not late. (Sass/Interstate, 1949). Heirloom.
