'HIGH NOON' Tree Peony (Paeonia suffruticosa x lutea '正午-Hai Huang')
正午; Hai Huang; High Noon.
'正午' or 'Hai Huang' is a classic hybrid tree peony with clear lemon-yellow flowers marked red at the center. It blooms early in the season and it may occasionally throw a repeat blossom during the summer. Known in English by the name 'High Noon', this is one of the more widely grown yellow tree peonies in North America. It is hardy, reliable, and prolific. Awarded the American Peony Society’s Gold Medal in 1989 (Saunders).
The Tree Peony (P. suffruticosa) is one of the most glorious shrubs available to American gardeners. Its huge, silky flowers are similar to those of herbaceous Peonies, but the range of color runs from pure-white through pinks and reds into lavender and yellow. Mature plants reach 5'-7'′ and carry up to 50 of these exquisite blossoms at a time.
Tree Peonies grow best in full sun or partial shade and evenly moist but well-drained soil with a pH close to neutral. They take a year or two to show what they can do and it's well worth the wait. Hardy, disease, and deer-resistant. (Saunders, ?).

I’ve never written a bad review before but I am quite displeased with my order. It’s taken 10 days from the day it was shipped to arrive here. The “High Noon” peony arrived looking dried up with the buds even looking dried and parched.

I ordered a tree peony from another online nursery one year ago, what I received was root part only and it died after two leaves appeared. It was a happy surprise when I saw the tree peony that the Champlain Peony Company shipped to me. This tree peony is so healthy, with 3 long stems on root. Look forward to seeing beautiful flowers.
Ordered 2 tree peony’s from a peony specialist I recently found on internet. Very nice website with great photos of each variety & good detail of plant type, origin etc prices seemed reasonable. Took a chance to order - received frequent updates re status; expected shipping. Very nicely surprised by quick mailing & very good sized , good condition plants.
