'MISSIE'S BLUSH' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'missie's blush')
'MISSIE'S BLUSH' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'missie's blush')
One of our most popular cutting-peony selections, the flowers open blush-pink and fade to shell-pink or even to warm-white. Blooming late mid-season, it opens its pink buds to reveal a fully-double, flat-formed, scentless beauty. 'Missie's Blush' is a vigorous grower, and has stout 32" stems making is stand up nicely in the garden and very useful for cutting. LIMITED QUANTITY. First bloomed in 1940 but not registered to establish its name until 1994. Named after the hybridizer, Missie Bainum, and maintained in the Hollingsworth Nursery since 1960. A favorite at Champlain Peony Company. (Bainum/Hollingsworth, 1994). Heirloom.
