'Big Ben' was released in 1943 to loud applause for its classic, rich-red, 5-inch, fully-double, bomb-type blossoms which top very strong 36" stems. A perennial selection for the cutting markets, 'Big Ben' works just as nicely as a neat and tidy garden selection. Blooming early to mid-season, 'Big Ben' has an extended bloom period thanks to numerous side buds on each stem. Nicely fragrant. (Auten/1943). Heirloom.
