'FRANÇOIS ORTEGAT' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'françois ortegat')
'FRANÇOIS ORTEGAT' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'françois ortegat')
'François Ortegat' covers herself in large, fragrant blooms in late mid-season. This selection is a mahogany-red peony and when first in bud it is dark and sultry. The deep, rich, burgundy-wine buds, open to luxuriously dark blossoms giving way rich-magenta. The 36" stems are perfect for cutting in bud, but consider 'François Ortegat' as needing support when in full bloom in the garden. 'François Ortegat' has been around for over 150 years and for very good reason: she is a beautiful and infrequently encountered stunning antique! LIMITED QUANTITY. (Parmentier, 1850). Heirloom.
