'KRISTIN JOY' Peony (Paeonia x lobada 'kristin joy')

A perfect herbaceous hybrid where medium height is needed. 'Kristin Joy' is a brilliant-red single peony of exceptional composure and stamina. Vigorous plants multiply freely making division easy. Candy-apple red 8" flowers are composed of one or two rows of simply-notched petals that tend to cup the center of frilly golden-yellow stamen. The fuchsia stigma and red filaments bring an interest of their own to anyone curious enough to get a closer peek. Blooms mid-season. (Laning, 2000).
