Wow! This mutt of a peony is striking, indeed! Its splotches, flares, crimps, and bits make for a peony like no other. Borne from four different species: albiflora, officinalis, macrophylla, and mlokosewitschi) (16292). Pale-rose is the primary color with prominent dark-maroon flares binging in the drama. The brilliant yellow center of stamen stuffed with plump lime-green carpels topped with bright-pink stigma finish the party. Petals ruffled. Very striking. (Saunders, 1950).

I planted Lady Gay this weekend & I was surprised that there was only one eye. This was a $45 purchase so I’m rooting for some hard work from that one eye!
