'SCRUMDIDLEYUMPTIOUS' Itoh Peony (Paeonia x intersectional 'scrumdidleyumptious')
‘Scrumdidleyumptious’ sports semi-double to fully-double, 6-inch, soft creamy-yellow blossoms suffused with princess pink. Each pedal is outlined in a slightly darker shade of the same pink creating an overall richness seldom found in peonies. The yellow stamen help to make the center of each tight blossom glow with peachy-colored cheerfulness. Lightly fragrant flowers are displayed just above dark green, neatly attractive foliage on upright, slightly arching 30" stems that do not require staking. 'Scrumdidleyumptious' is a superior landscape or cutting garden peony. Each stem forms numerous side-buds to the main blossom, lengthening the blooming time of this stunning peony. Introduced in 2002. Mid-season. Very limited quantities. (Smith, 2002).
Zones 4-8
2/3-eye bare roots are available only in the late-fall and winter.

My Scrumdidleyumtious peony root arrived this week. It was well packed in wood shavings and best of all, had FIVE eyes. So often mail-order peonies have onlytwo or three eyes. I planted it the same day it came and I know that it will probably take two years to bloom but will be worth it. This is an Itoh peony so I know it will have huge blooms like a tree peony. I don’t have to stake my Itoh peonies either because of their growth habit. Now I have to be patient.
