'AMBASSADOR' Flowering Onion (Allium x 'ambassador')
'Ambassador' flowering onion produces 6-inch balls of tightly packed, rich-purple flowers. Terrific either planted in groups or strung like lanterns through a perennial border. One of the last of the large Allium to flower: Blooms with roses. Following the flower is an attractive, persistent seed head which has its own appeal. Perennializes in well-drained soils.
