'AUGEAN STABLES' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'augean stables')

An exquisite 2022 introduction of an unregistered seedling from Joshua Scholten that is making a statement, 'Augean Stables' will soon become a standard in semi-double, red herbaceous peonies. Its eight-inch, blood-red, semi-double blooms are filled with golden-yellow stamen, and pink stigma making it standout in the peony garden. Nothing really compares. Reaching 30" tall, the strong stems support a single, upright flower. Vigorous grower. (Scholten, 2022).

Zones not yet rated but likely 3-8 given parentage.

Bare root 3/5-eye and field stock are available only in late-fall and winter.
