'DAYSTAR' Peony (Paeonia tenuifolia x Mlokosewitschi 'daystar')

'Daystar' is an heirloom Sanders hybrid between two early-blooming species. Her pale-yellow, crepe-like petals combine to form a loose, single-form flower of exceptional charm. 'Daystar' is likely to be the first or nearly the first peony to grace your spring garden. Strong red stems grow to an impressive three feet and are topped with multiple large blossoms. A good breeding variety. Sets seed easily. (Saunders, 1949). Heirloom.
