'Francoise Ortegat' covers herself in large, fragrant blooms in late mid-season. This selection is a mahogany-red peony and when first in bud it certainly is dark and sultry. The deep, rich, burgundy-wine buds, open to luxuriously dark blossoms giving way rich-magenta. The 36" stems are perfect for cutting in bud, but consider 'Francoise Ortegat' as needing support when in full bloom in the garden.
