'Hispaña' is a very early-blooming, semi-double peony with blossoms of coral-pink, fading to light-pink with blurred, white petal edges. The scentless blossoms can reach 8" in diameter, are upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are frilled, and in later stages of bloom twisted and pointed. Plants reach 30” at maturity, and carry broadly pointed, green foliage with undertones of purple. Growth habit is upright and mechanical support is unnecessary. Presents good potential for cut-flower production. Named for the Ninth Spanish Legion of the Imperial Roman army. (Scholten, 2022).
