'HOT CHOCOLATE' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'hot chocolate')

This Japanese-flowered form of herbaceous peony is as rich as a cup of hot cocoa. The unusual tone-on-tone blossoms of the aptly named peony ‘Hot Chocolate’ blend gleaming chocolate guard petals and cocoa-colored centers. The flowers cap a 36" tall shrub that also offers foliage interest. Leaves emerge in shades of bronze and maroon in spring, change to glossy dark-green for summer then shade gold for fall. You really don't want to miss out on this selection! Early. VERY LIMITED QUANTITY. (Sass/Reynolds, 1971).
