'LA PERLE' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'la perle')

This heritage cultivar has fully-double, large flowers blooming in the mid-season. Globular-shaped blossoms with light, old rose-pink guards and collar, petals with slightly darker centers prominently flaked with red. The overall color effect is a distinctly lavender tone. The fragrance is spicy but not cloyingly so. Medium height to 32" and floriferous, 'La Perle' makes an excellent cut-flower with good stems and foliage. This true 'La Perla' is pale lavender-pink and is an excellent strain. One of the very few beautiful varieties in this color. Highly fragrant. RARE AND IN LIMITED QUANTITY. (Crousse, 1886)
