A spectacular 19th-century French introduction, this richly-fragrant heirloom variety is widely regarded as one of the most handsome peonies. Very large, lemon-white, fully-double flowers are strongly suffused with yellow from buried stamen and staminodes. The blossoms mature to an antique-white. Flat at first, the 7" blossoms develop into large globes. Glossy, deep-green leaves are quite attractive during the growing season. Grows to 26" tall. Blooms late.
