'MELEAGRIS' Checkered Fritillary (Fritillaria x meleagris)

With names like 'Checkered Lily', 'Guinea Hen Flower' and 'Snake's Head Fritillary this beloved woodland garden perennial bulb delights the eye and evokes fond memories of carefree spring days of warm sunshine. They are native to riverine flood plains and in the garden, they enjoy springtime rains followed by hot summertime droughts. Once established, checkered lilies will multiply to fill the landscape. The winsome bell-shaped flowers appear in shades of purple and white. We offer a mixture only and cannot distinguish flower color by bulb. Grows to 16" tall.
