'SATIN ROUGE' Tree Peony (Paeonia x lutea 'satin rouge')

'Satin Rouge' has large, fully-double, blood-red blossoms that age to an orange-red. A unique color in tree peonies. This tree peony only grows to 3' which can make appreciating the nodding flowers a bit gymnastic. However, the 8" blossoms show handsomely floating in a shallow bowl of water. Strong woody stems bare the thin-stemmed flowers one per shoot. Lightly fragrant. (Lemoine, 1926) Heirloom.
