Not to be confused with a red Japanese peony of the same name, this 'Seashell' has single to semi-double, shell pink, highly fragrant, 6" blossoms with large golden-yellow centers. A tall, stately plant with individual stems growing to an impressive 48-inches, this specimen rarely requires staking. Retains rich-green foliage quality late into the growing season. Excellent for beds, borders, and foundation planting. Plant generously in the cutting garden! Blooms late-spring to early-summer. An American Peony Society Gold Medal Winner. (Sass/Interstate, 1937).
