An entirely perfect peony that must be experienced to appreciate. Early-blooming and SEMI-DOUBLE, 'Solidus' is a yellow peony with hints of apricot and occasional red striations. Flowers are up to 7-inches in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are frilled. No fragrance noted. Plants reach 30" at maturity, and carry broad, pointed, emerald-green foliage with undertones of purple. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary. Presents good potential for cut-flower production. Named for a Roman gold coin. (Scholten, 2022).
