'Sonoma Sun' flowers in the mid-season. Semi-double, butter-yellow petaled, rosy-red flared blossom unfurl to a full 7 inches! By the third day each blossom has mellowed to a beautiful buttery-yellow. Much recommended, this has become rather a 'standard' against which new yellows are measured. A very attractive plant in its own right, 'Somona Sun' deserves greater presence in American perennial gardens. EXTREMELY LIMITED QUANTITY! (Tolomeo, 1996).
