'VANILLA SHAKE' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'vanilla shake')

Peony 'Vanilla Shake' is a mid-season herbaceous hybrid with fully-double, bomb-form flowers. Cream-white guard petals lightly washed with a hint of lilac surround a beautifully segmented bowl of vanilla-flower white petals in the center. With up to three 5" to 6" flowers per stem, this very floriferous selection has a prolonged blooming period making it very useful in the peony border. Thirty inch stems have nice, clear-green foliage and make 'Vanilla Shake' a useful work-horse for the cutting garden, too. Mild classic peony fragrance rounds out the many reasons this is a popular peony in spite of its lofty price.
