Peony 'Villa Poppaea' is an early mid-season herbaceous hybrid with upward-facing, double, blood-red blossoms. Rose-type flower buds open by pushing up a feathered tuft of petals that turn into a large, beautiful red flower with cream-white edges and an occasional cream-white stripes. The 7" flowers are borne per stem and have a mild peony fragrance. Thirty-inch stems grow vigorously to form an upright bush of healthy green foliage with broad pointed leaves. Good for cut-flowers. Unregistered seedling introduced by Joshua Scholten in 2022.
