'YELLOW GEM' Itoh Peony (Paeonia x intersectional 'yellow gem')

'Yellow Gem' is a pale primrose-yellow, semi-double, intersectional peony. A shorter variety than many, 'Yellow Gem' will find its best advantage in the foreground of the border garden. Red flares on each petal give the blossoms a visual depth making them appear larger than they really are. Softly scented, 'Yellow Gem' will blossom in the late-spring to early-summer depending on your growing zone. (Higuri / Smirnow, 1974)
