'ALFRESCO' Amaryllis (Hippeastrum x 'alfresco')

'Alfresco' is our favorite white-flowering Sonata-type amaryllis. It has pure-white, 5"-6" double to triple layered blossoms! Blossoms have lime-green throat deeply placed in the center of each flower. Some petals may have random streaks of pink. Each bulb will yield 2 or 3 flowering stalks with 4 or more flowers each. Stems reach 16" in height making this a good size in the home and one that doesn't generally flop over when in flower. 'Alfresco' is also sweetly scented, a bonus in the amaryllis world. These South African-grown bulbs are ready to grow and blossom once planted and watered. Can be grown outdoors in the garden in warmer zones where frost does not penetrate to the depth of the dormant bulb.
