Bright-red, slightly lobed petals create a 5" bowl around the bright yellow center of stamen. Lightly scented blooms are displayed on erect ,thin stems of this clumping slow-growing classic peony. Excellent background plant for spring bulbs, or use in perennial or shrub borders reaching up to 36". Choice cut-flower. Very early blooming. (Fay/Reath, 1973).
