Itoh intersectional hybrid 'Cat Whiskers' is a semi-double, cup-shaped peony with numerous visible red flares radiating from the center of the 7", medium-pink flower. The vibrant pink of the new flower fades with age mellowing to a soft princess-pink. Inner petals are significantly shorter than guards and have frilled terminal edges; pert and informal. The blossom is without fragrance...or peer in its casual beauty. Average height 24-28 inch making this cultivar a very good option for the cutting garden. Tolerates partial shade well. Introduced only recently, 'Cat Whiskers' is difficult to find and nearly always sold-out when you do.
