'JAMES PILLOW' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'james pillow')
'JAMES PILLOW' Peony (Paeonia x lactiflora 'james pillow')
'James Pillow' is a delicious, light shell-pink, fully-double flowered peony with exceptional cut-flower attributes. Long 38" stems support large, lightly scented blossoms late in the peony season. Each stem will have side buds, so the gardener can choose to extend the bloom season by leaving them on, or remove the side buds to produce show-stopping, prizing-winning flowers. An APS Best in Show twice! And just because we all talk about this as a cut-flower standout doesn't mean 'James Pillow' should be left out of the perennial border! It makes a terrific mid to back-border planting. Introduced in 1936, 'James Pillow' is now uncommon to find, but Champlain Peony Company is determined to bring it back into the modern peony garden. (Pillow/Christman, 1936). Heirloom.
