'LOVE AFFAIR' Itoh Peony (Paeonia x intersectional 'love affair')

'Love Affair' is a semi-double, white Itoh peony that blooms mid-season. The ruffle of white petals is the perfect setting for the stunning center ray of yellow stamen that nestle the flower's rose-pink pistils. 'Love Affair' bears a single flower atop each 30-inch stem. It's pristine white color is unique among the Itoh intersectional family making it very useful in moon gardens and lightly shaded areas of the perennial border. This selection also has a very pleasant perfume. (Hollingsworth, 2005).
